FLIGHTS
The field has been divided into nine flights based on combined team handicap indexes.
TEES
The Tournament CHAMPIONSHIP/TPC Combo Tees will be used for all flights with the following exception: Players age 60 and older, whose combined age and tournament handicap index are equal to, or greater than 75, have the option to play the PLAYERS Tees with an adjusted handicap in accordance with the World Handicap System (WHS).
SCORING
Winners of each flight will be determined based on their NET aggregate score over the course of three rounds. In the event of a tie, the Flight Winner will be determined by their Alternate Shot scores. If they are still tied, the teams will play a one-hole, sudden-death playoff in an alternate shot format beginning on hole #18. The playoff will continue on hole #18 until a Flight Winner has been identified. Teams will receive their appropriate alternate shot handicaps for the playoff hole.
CHAMPIONSHIP SHOOT-OUT
The first and second-place finishers in each flight will qualify for the Championship Shoot-Out on Saturday afternoon to determine the 2024 Men's Member-Guest, 'THE GAMBLER' Champions.
CHAMPIONSHIP SHOOT-OUT FORMAT
Those who qualify for the Championship Shoot-Out will be divided into 3 pods. Pod 1 will start on hole #12, pod 2 will start on hole #11, and pod 3 will start on hole #9. Each Pod will consist of 6 teams.
o Two-man alternate shot, using 50% of the team's combined handicap. Example: Player “A” hits the tee
shot then Player “B” hits the second shot. If Player “A” holes the putt then Player “B” hits the next tee
shot.
o After each hole, the teams with the highest scores will be eliminated. In all Pods, two teams will be
eliminated on the first hole, two teams on the second hole, and one team on the last hole.
o Strokes will be given where they fall during the tournament.
o The winner of each pod will move to hole #17, where one team will be eliminated. The two remaining
teams will move to hole #18 and compete to be crowned The Gambler overall champions.
SHOOT-OUT TIES
In the event of a tie on the 18th hole of the Shootout, the final two teams will play hole 18 repeatedly (from their appropriate tees) until a Champion has been identified. In the event of limited daylight, the Rules Committee (Brian Hawthorne and Michael Messner) will conduct a chip-off to identify the 2023 Gambler Champions. BOTH players on each team will chip off and the closest of the two partners will be used.
SHOOT-OUT TEES
All play during the Championship Shoot-out will be from the same tees played during the tournament. Strokes will be given where they fall on the scorecard and the order of play will be determined by drawing numbers.
CHIP-OFFS
One player from the team will participate in the chip-off. That player is determined by the alternate shot order on that hole. The player who hit the last shot on the hole will not participate in the chip-off. The location of the chip-off will be decided by the Tournament Committee. Competitors in the chip-off must not watch fellow competitors' chip shots. All chips MUST be on the green to count. Putters will NOT be allowed in the chip-off.
In the event of a tie following the final hole, the teams tied will go back to the 18th tee and play it again from the appropriate tees until a champion is determined. In the event the Rules Committee (Brian Hawthorne and Mike Messner) determines there isn't enough daylight to play the entire hole again, a chip-off will be used to determine the winner. This chip-off will have both players on each team allowed to chip and the closer of the two will be used.
